Yu Maeda's “Core Pop” paintings are psychedelic; bright colors with the intricacy of a Tibetan Buddhist mandala. Since coming here from Kumamoto Japan in 2014, Maeda has been showing at such LA staples as Giant Robot and Superchief gallery. You may have also seen his animated bumpers on Adult Swim and Japan's NHK channel. He lives and works in Southern California.
