Kelly Grace

"This painting portrays some women fighting to survive against some impossible odds. Ultimately it’s about strength and resilience. I battled with whether or not to paint this during these times but decided it’s absolutely my artist’s response to what is happening.”

Kelly Grace uses painting as a vehicle in which to travel back in time through imagination. Her film narrative works strive to depict only a piece of a larger story, one that the viewer can write for themselves. Kelly fell in love with visual storytelling during her studies for Interpretive Illustration at art college. Her work is the end result of a culmination of efforts to bring her childhood nostalgia to life. She revisits memories of her past and explores different ways to recreate them in her paintings. Kelly tries to express her love of retro inspired themes and subject matter in a modern voice.
