Jorge Mascarenhas was born in Boston, Massachussets. Since the age of seven he was selling his famed elementary school comic called "Ferinhas (Little Beasts)." He grew up in three different countries (Brazil, Mexico and the U.S.) and majored in illustration at California College of the Arts in San Francisco. His major artistic influences are Nordic, Post-Impressionists and Japanese artists. His work has been honored by the New York Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, American Illustration, 3x3 Magazine and Illustration West Annuals. In addition, he's been awarded a Silver Medal by Creative Quarterly, included in Lüerzer's Archive 200 Best Illustrators Worldwide book, featured in Communication Arts Fresh and in HOW Magazine's Seen. He currently resides in Alameda, CA.
