Pablo Picasso - "Naked Maja" - Signed Stamp in Full Vintage Frame

'Naked Maja' postage stamp, Spain, 1930

'The Naked Maja' is a philatelic name for three postage stamps of Spain of 1930 depicting the 'La maja desnud'  painting (1800) by Francisco de Goya (1746–1828). They are part of a set marking the anniversary of the death of this Spanish artist, and are considered the world's first postage stamp with nudes

Matted and framed to an overall finished size of 6.5 x 6.5 inches. Verso bares original framers tag, appearing to have been removed from a previous framing and reapplied to this frame. Verso also bares a period ID card for the La Maja Des Nude stamp along with a modern gallery label from Maison De La Pensée Française

Pablo Picasso
