Terry Urban & Justin Lyons: "Days Like These" Exhibit at Bruce Lurie Gallery, CA

Justin Lyons & Terry Urban: "Days Like These"

Bruce Lurie Gallery is pleased to announce Days Like These, an exhibition featuring the latest paintings from Justin Lyons and Terry Urban. Each work reflects the zeitgeist of our rapidly evolving world and offers a glimpse into the artist's inner world, untamed by artistic conventions or even societal norms. This exhibition also seeks to amplify the voices of outsider artists whose unique and authentic expressions challenge our perceptions of what's the forefront of contemporary art.

Justin Lyons is a self-taught artist from the Florida panhandle. His inspirations are most often triggered by a word, phrase or thought, which in association with the other elements within the work, intend to try and tell a story without giving away too much, letting the viewer interpret his own connection to the piece. Lyons aims to create art that’s approachable to everyone and the human element within.

Terry Urban was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in a family of Irish American heritage and under the guidance of his Cherokee stepfather. A town known for its resilience and hardworking spirit greatly influenced his art, which often reflects themes of determination, perseverance, and struggle. Urban’s paintings explore the subject of the human conditions, often depicting dark imagery that reveals the complexities of the human psyche.
